The end of summer
I had a very busy summer! Lots of awesome moments, full of commissions, freelance opportunities, and passion projects! I am already excited for next summer, but for now here is a little recap of some summer related projects.
First, LocalsFest has gone to print! A massive amount of my early summer was spent designing the brand identity, which moved into the social media campaign, and ended with merch designs and the big print poster. I am not sharing the merch designs yet, it will be up to LocalsFest to share that, but you should totally check out the website (www.localsfest.co). Here is the big print poster! I am excited to see it in action here soon!
I am also nearly done with illustrating my portion of The 9th TCG! This week I finished illustration number six out of seven when it comes to the creatures I am responsible for drawing. Which is super exciting. I have spent so much time on these drawings, inevitably I know I will be emotional when it is over. But it is not over yet! I still have one more to do, and here in this blog post I am pumped to introduce you to “Owl Advancer”!
I have a lot more secretly in the works at the moment, and even some public projects I could talk about, but I think recently I have been reminded to slow down and have fun in-between busy days. If you have been following me for a long time you know my favorite thing to draw is trees. I love how expressive and natural it is to draw them, they are so satisfying. A very forgiving subject as well! This week I went ahead and drew one for the first time in a long time. All it took was me taking a half hour to slow down, and draw for fun, not for anyone, no price tag, no post for social media - I drew just for the sake of creating!
Which may seem silly that I am sharing it here now, I promise that was not the motivation behind this hahahaha. I am just excited about the end result, and more importantly the process and lesson that came with it. Thanks for reading this blog post, make sure to create something today, and I will talk to you soon!
