Album Covers, Interviews, & The Last Soirée
Wow what a month I have had! Maybe the most busy I have ever been as an artist. I have a bunch of things I can show, a bunch of things I can’t show, and several things that I insist you look at!
First of all I have the opportunity to design an album cover. Now, I have designed album covers before in practice. Many of you probably know about my YouTube video about redesigning Peach Pits album covers. This time was different though, as it was a commission!
Occasions is a high energy rock band out of Florida, they recently just dropped their debut single and I have the privilege of designing the album artwork, animation for Spotify and I made sure to make them some graphics to post across social media. I have a whole YouTube video talking about the more detailed context, what choices I made and how I executed them.
This project as a whole I am so stoked on. It has it’s own page in the portfolio section of my website if you are interested in checking that out. For some reason though the YouTube video is not doing very well, it is actually a record low in views for me. Maybe I need to give it some time, but if any of this sounds interesting to you at all check out the video below. I promise it will be worth your time.

This last month I also had another first time, which was being interviewed! Passion Projects is a podcast hosted by musician Adam Wall. He interviews all sorts of creatives, and I was honored at the opportunity to appear on said podcast! I can’t say enough kind things about how it went, and I will leave it below to check out for yourself.
We cover topics like creative process, inspiration, and how to keep moving forward as an artist!

Now, I would not typically include a branding project. But if you have read this newsletter this far you probably understand that my style is typically very grunge. Inspired by west coast music posters, pen and ink illustration, texture, etc.
This last month I got emailed by The Last Soirée, a vintage upscaling business. Where they take old objects and repurpose them into candles! We did a whole large scale project where we came up with a new primary logo, secondary logo, word mark and icons to use.
While I am not writing this today to show you the primary one, as they have yet to reveal it. I do want to show you the simple work mark, or I guess you could call it an icon in some ways as well. It is the most elegant thing I have ever made, I was so excited upon completion. Like I said, a very large contrast from my typical style but man I am in love with it!

As always stay tuned, there is more on the way. Photography, animation, design, illustration, and art shows are all on the horizon! God bless!
