YouTube, Joey Falcone & Art Center Gallery
Hi! So good to see you again! I have been working on a few things I think you will find really cool! Let’s jump right in!
First, for those of you that watch my YouTube channel, a new chapter has started. I gave a farewell to the old channel which I can copy and paste right here -
“Hello everybody! If I could just have a moment of your time, that would be awesome.
I love posting my art, and my favorite way to do that is through YouTube. It feels very organic, I love the interactions I get there, and I enjoy documenting the process along the way.
The channel I’ve been posting to for the past year or so is actually something I made over ten years ago to post skateboard clips, not the art I create now.
Over time, I also uploaded a lot of shorts that you’ve probably seen on my other platforms. I didn’t realize that would accidentally build two different audiences: one for short-form content and one for long-form content.
These days, I don’t really enjoy creating (or consuming) short-form content anymore, aside from my ramblings on TikTok, unless it’s short animations or big announcements, like art shows.
Because of how my channel originally grew, and a few other small factors, YouTube doesn’t quite know how to show my videos to the viewers who would actually enjoy them.
While I could probably dig myself out of that hole, the part that made me the saddest was realizing I might be holding onto a channel just because of the subscriber count, which was never why I started posting in the first place. So, it feels right to reset!
I’ve decided to start a brand new channel where I’ll only upload long-form content, the kind I truly enjoy making (and watching).
You can find that channel at @cooperjudahart on YouTube (or just search Judah Cooper Art). If you enjoy my long-form content, that’s where it will live from now on. If you prefer short-form stuff, I’ll still be posting that on Instagram and TikTok.
If you’re a fan of my live streams, I’ll still do some occasionally, but for now, follow me on TikTok for those.
My art has grown so much over the years I’ve been on YouTube, that old channel has hundreds of thousands of views, and I appreciate you all so much.
I hope you’ll join me in this new chapter! The first two videos will be reposts of my most recent (and favorite) ones. Please do not subscribe if you don’t watch my long form content hahahaha it is totally okay to just enjoy my Instagram or TikTok!
Thank you all,
— Judah”

Now that I have that out of the way, there are lots of new sections in my portfolio page! One being the work I did for the band “Fitch”. If you have been following my journey since this last summer that is probably familiar to you, and you can now go take a closer look at it!
But there is a second brand new section to my portfolio page titled “Brother War”. A musician by the name of Joey Falcone commissioned me to create album artwork for his new single “Brother War”. The single will be out next Friday, and you can find him on all streaming platforms.
There is a lot that went into that specific piece. It is very symbolic, and the song lyrics itself are very heavy. The entire cover is inspired by the lyrics! The typography I want to feel bold, delicate and intertwined (like the world Joey describes in his new song). I probably did around forty different iterations of the title typography, and I am super excited about how it turned out.
The imagery I played around with a lot. No matter what I tested out I always came back to a line in the song that talks about the garden of eden, and the hope that it brings. The flower on the cover is symbolic of the garden of eden. I thought a lot about what kind of flower to use, as over time certain flowers can represent different people, feelings or places. Ultimately I decided to use a daisy, which again if you have been following me for a while is very familiar in my self portrait “inflorescence” which has become the face of my art accounts (and is at the top of my website header).
I then brought in hands to surround the flower, with the inside of each hand being illuminated by the daisy. To represent the world and the people in it. Final touches included creating depth and adding textured of course. I really hope you give the song a listen when it comes out next Friday, and I hope you can feel the album cover when it is paired with the song!
You can take a closer look at the entire project on my portfolio page.
This month I also got to show my work at Art Center Burlington, here in Burlington, Iowa. There were several fun things about the piece I submitted. First, I took a still from the animation “Mountain Man” which you can find on my portfolio page. It came from another album art commission from the band Occasions. I then took a frame, sanded the finish off, wood carved mountains into it, and laid in ink to make it pop.
So ultimately, I framed a still from my animation, that sits in a wood carved frame, and a QR code next to it, so the viewer can check out that animation. It was so fun!
Down below I will leave you with a picture of me standing with it in the gallery! I have so many cool things on the way! I hope you stick around for more! Thanks for reading!
